At the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017, the Peter and Luise Hager Foundation donated to food banks in Germany and France. The foundation supported German food banks in Homburg (Saar), Pirmasens, Schalksmühle and Uebigau, and the French food banks Banque Alimentaire du Bas-Rhin in Strasbourg and les Restos du Cœur in Saint-Martin-Le-Vinoux near Crolles.
"In France, almost six million people depend on low-price and donated foodstuffs. The work of the volunteers in food banks is vital for the most vulnerable in our society and their commitment is something that we hold in great esteem", says Denis Munch of the Hager Group. "We are delighted to be able to make a contribution on behalf of the employees of the Hager Group and the Peter and Luise Hager Foundation", said Denis Munch when he presented the cheque to the Banque Alimentaire du Bas-Rhin in Strasbourg.
The donations were collected as part of the 'Eine runde Sache' project, where employees of the Hager Group in Germany and France round their monthly net salary down to the nearest whole number and donate the remaining amount to a good cause. The Peter and Luise Hager Foundation top this amount up and donate it to food banks close to Hager Group locations in Germany and France.
