Digitalisation

Philippe Ferragu has worked at Hager Group since 2006. As Chief Group Resources Officer on the Board of Directors, he is responsible for, among other things, the digital transformation of Hager Group.

People are often asking these days in which areas and how digitalisation will change our company and business. This is a good question. A better question, however, is in what areas digitalisation will not affect us. There is hardly any area that will remain untouched by data-driven processes.

A good example of how digitalisation is impacting our company is the engineering department; our engineers now have to think digitally and create products and solutions that can be intelligently networked. Indeed, communication with customers, purchasing, marketing, finance, human resources…, there really is no area of our company that remains untouched or not currently undergoing a reorganisation.

As such, we are currently revising our organisation in such a way as to make the most of the opportunities presented by digital processes and products. Our Digital Engineering has become more focused. With our Digital Factory, we are centralising to provide consistent digital services to departments throughout the company. Data Excellence, dedicated to analysing and structuring external and internal data, is also new. There is also now a Group Digital Transformation Officer to ensure all these processes are carried out consistently and in line with our corporate strategy.

How well we tackle all these challenges and how courageously we seize the opportunities presented by digitalisation will determine how successful we will be in the future.
