Dear <firstname> <lastname>,

here is your second specific HPLP newsletter that you are receiving as a phase owner or milestone approver; it follows the more general HPLP application newsletter you received in April. We consider it important that as a phase owner or milestone approver you be kept informed as HPLP continues to evolve and with it templates, sub-processes, check-list improvements, etc…

So what’s new…?

New rules for project indicators:

Explaining the traffic light system!

As you know, project indicators are now associated to project checklists. The three main indicators - quality, financial, timing - characterise project status. A traffic light colour system has been put in place to indicate status.

Understanding the traffic light system:

Green light:
● Project is in line with contracts (Project Contract & Value Chain / Engineering
Contract)
● Any minor difficulties are under the team’s control and no help is expected.

Orange light:
● Case 1: project is not going in the right direction, risks are high, an action plan is in
progress (Team is able to deal with it)
● Case 2: project was in the red zone, initial project contracts can no longer be
respected, a revised contract is validated (by the same team who signed the initial
one).

Red light:
● Contracts cannot be respected
● Difficulties encountered cannot be managed by the team.
● Urgent help or decision making (based on team’s proposal) is needed.

Making adjustments

Better understanding the project!

Launching a project? To cross milestone M1, a project (H1, H2, HT) must already be integrated into the Development Plan (DP) after the yearly official campaign or after a NPC meeting. However, this is not the case for H0 projects which are not necessarily integrated into the DP. A new deliverable will be added to the checklist at its next release.

Involvement of project team? Project team remains mobilised on the project until targets defined in the Value Chain / Engineering contract are reached, at latest M7.

8P Marketing concept

Template to be majorly reworked!

Your comments on 8P marketing concept usage will be integrated and the template majorly reworked. Changes will be officialised at the next major release at end of June.

Changes include:
● Chapters to be filled in according to project phases and market launch clusters
(L, M, S)
● Easy integration from 8P to Project contract
● New RACE tool (specifically for Markets) to optimise resources for market launches

Project Management Practitioner module:

Spaces still available!

The three-day Project Management Practitioner module for project managers starts in June and there are still some spaces available. Contact your manager if you want to sign up.

Coming soon:

Key date - 30th June 2017!

A major HPLP checklist / template release is scheduled for 30th June 2017. Your Champion knows about the change and will support its deployment.
