Dear <firstname> <lastname>,
here is your second specific HPLP newsletter that you are receiving as a phase owner or milestone approver; it follows the more general HPLP application newsletter you received in April. We consider it important that as a phase owner or milestone approver you be kept informed as HPLP continues to evolve and with it templates, sub-processes, check-list improvements, etc…

New rules for project indicators:
Explaining the traffic light system! As you know, project indicators are now associated to project checklists. The three main indicators - quality, financial, timing - characterise project status. A traffic light colour system has been put in place to indicate status. Understanding the traffic light system:Green light:
● |
Project is in line with contracts (Project Contract & Value Chain / Engineering Contract) |
● |
Any minor difficulties are under the team’s control and no help is expected. |
Orange light:
● |
Case 1: project is not going in the right direction, risks are high, an action plan is in progress (Team is able to deal with it) |
● |
Case 2: project was in the red zone, initial project contracts can no longer be respected, a revised contract is validated (by the same team who signed the initial one). |
Red light:
● |
Contracts cannot be respected |
● |
Difficulties encountered cannot be managed by the team. |
● |
Urgent help or decision making (based on team’s proposal) is needed. |

Making adjustments
Better understanding the project!
Launching a project? To cross milestone M1, a project (H1, H2, HT) must already be integrated into the Development Plan (DP) after the yearly official campaign or after a NPC meeting. However, this is not the case for H0 projects which are not necessarily integrated into the DP. A new deliverable will be added to the checklist at its next release.
Involvement of project team? Project team remains mobilised on the project until targets defined in the Value Chain / Engineering contract are reached, at latest M7.
