Fabrice Amedeo finishes 10th at the Transat Jacques Vabre

The two men showed courage and perfect organisation in the face of waters and winds that were often too calm or too rough, and we are proud to see them finish 10th among the 22 IMOCA boats of this Transat Jacques Vabre 2021. The skippers sailed the 5,800 miles of the race at an average speed of 11.33 knots.

Good preparation and a great boat

Fabrice Amedeo, delighted by their achievement, said: "Being on the start line was a first victory. Being 10th on the finish line is extraordinary, I'm really happy, there's a lot of joy. A big thank you to Loïs for being a great companion, even though he made me sweat a lot. It went really well, overall we had a great race with a great trajectory from Cap Verde. Coming in 10th was nothing I expected at the start line as there had been very little time to practice together with Loïs. He was really going for it, I was more reasonable but in the end youth won”.

Amedeo congratulated the winners and explained that his and Loïs’s complicity made up for their lack of training. He went on to wax lyrical about his boat: “I'm also very happy with the boat, it’s great and still has a lot of good days ahead of it. I'm very attached to it and look forward to more great achievements with it. We had no problems on board, everything went smoothly, except for the big spinnaker which exploded on Wednesday because we were a bit greedy. The arrival this morning with the sunrise, the greenery of the island, the turquoise blue of the ocean, it was magnificent.”

Congratulations to Fabrice and Loïs for this great 10th place! Hager Group is proud to have seen Fabrice Amedeo wearing our colours during this Transat.
