Around the world, more and more governments, companies and property managers are turning to renewable energy sources – and Hager Group is on hand to help with innovative building technologies. Besides intelligent metering and control techniques, these include power cut-off functions, which help avoid peaks in energy consumption. One of the main prerequisites for the increased use of renewable energies, however, is efficient storage and management. We are fully focused on developing these exact types of solutions.
Generating and Storing Energy
For several years now, we have worked together with energy suppliers and industry partners in the "Lion Grid" project, exploring the interplay between the generation and storage of renewable energies. Since autumn 2014, we have been testing a pioneering storage and control technology at our Research and Application Centre at our Blieskastel site in Saarland, Germany. In other words, we are exploiting building intelligence to save energy. More and more customers will benefit from this accomplishment in the future when we introduce our energy storage and management system to the market. We presented a special, high-performance version at the EXPO 2015 in Milan, which supplied the German pavilion with solar energy together with OPV modules from our partner BELECTRIC.
Energy for e-mobility
Alongside buildings, vehicles will also be electrified in an eco-friendly way in the future. Experts predict that in 2025, 15% of all vehicles will already be equipped with an electric power train. We currently offer several high-performance charging solutions for electric vehicles. Our "witty" charging station for private consumers is not only aesthetically pleasing, after being distinguished with a design prize; it also features an energy management module which intelligently adjusts charging in line with electricity generation and use. It also meets the European standards for electric vehicle charging stations and can therefore be installed anywhere. At the same time, we are working on additional charging solutions for the private and semiprivate spheres. As the electromobile future picks up speed, Hager Group has secured its place on board.
