Excellent delivery service meets digitalisation
In just 6 months a truly transversal project to implement a Warehouse Management System in Telford, UK, came to successful completion on 15th September 2018.
By investing in new warehouse flow infrastructures and technologies warehouse operations at Hager UK have become digitally efficient. The new HWM Light Warehouse Management System guides and traces stock thus replacing manual picking and packing & shipping processes. Some of the new technologies include: hand & finger scanners, packing stations with environmentally friendly tape, newly designed and fully connected multi-order picking trolleys, a packaging line with a vacuum evacuation system and a flexible roller system to unload overseas containers.
The whole transversal project team did a great job in designing and implementing this new system that will immediately improve delivery quality and pave the way for increased productivity. As the warehouse staff rapidly felt comfortable in this new working environment new order delivery process and therefore customer orders were barely impacted. The Telford team and HWM Light Warehouse application could become our group reference for potential roll-outs to other group Distribution Centres.
