On 1st October 2015, Hager Group was invited to attend the second edition of the Digital Transformation Award at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in Berlin. The award ceremony highlights the importance of new business models and processes in technology. The award for innovative digital projects was awarded by the German magazine Wirtschaftswoche, also in charge of the inter-active ceremony.
During the evening, prizes were awarded to companies, organisations and administrations. Hager Group was nominated along with four other leading industry specialists in the category Business & Strategy, an award that we were honoured with at the end of the evening.
Part of the evaluation process was participating in an assessment centre for digital strategy. All shortlisted candidates were also asked to rate a specific digital project, Ulrich Holzer Corporate I.T. Director represented Hager Group.
Hager Group presented the development of an automation tool for injection machines in the Blieskastel factory. The jury was convinced by our digital connection for tools, logistics vehicles and SAP, and regarded as an excellent basis for further expansion of industry 4.0.
“The major challenges during the project were the coordination of different departments, external partners and different subject matters with colleagues from Germany, Poland and France. The principal reason for this success was the seamless integration of processes and technology,” commented Michael Hiery (Corporate I.T.), who led the project with the help of Carsten Schaaf (Production Management, Blieskastel) and William Fix (Factory 4, Obernai).
“An award from these reputable technical bodies confirms the path we are taking in this digital age. The award gives us new impetus for future projects and reflects the hard work and courage that was needed to complete this project. It makes us particularly proud to receive an award from external experts,” remarked Stefan Schorr, I.T. Director, who worked on the project and received the award in the ceremony in Berlin on 1st October.
