Hager Group treats youngsters at SOS Children's Villages to a trip to Europa-Park in Rust
Travelling at 130 km/h on Europe's largest roller coaster.Staying overnight in Camp Resort. Fjord-Rafting on artificial waterways. Full throttle on the WodanTimburcoaster, a wooden roller coaster more than one kilometre long - between 12th and 14th August, Hager Group treated a total of 100 youngsters from SOS Children's Villages in Merzig in Saarland and Eisenberg in Palatinate (Pfalz), to these and many other attractions at Europa-Park in Rust. Together with their carers, the young visitors were accommodated overnight in tepees, before spending an exciting day exploring the roller coasters and rides in the 94-hectre park. "It was a super exciting trip," said Jasmin (6 years old), who lives in the SOS Children's Village Palatinate, "we’d love to go back!"
AnkeAlforaiji, one of the mothers from the Children’s Village in Saarland, confirms that: “…our children were absolutely delighted by the day. Your gift really warmed their hearts, their faces glowed with happiness.”
A third group of children, from the SOS Children's Village in Obernai in Alsace, still have this trip to look forward to. Hager Group will be inviting them to Europa-Park in September.
The idea for this charity event was presented at Hager Group Symposium that took place last December in Europa-Park. After this annual meeting of the family-owned company, the participants, from all over the world, usually go home with a small gift. This year, however, a decision was made to donate the corresponding amount. "Our stay at Europa-Park was really impressive and gave us the idea of offering a similar experience to other individuals, who have fewer opportunities," explained Daniel Hager, the CEO of Hager Group. "As a family-owned company, the concept of family is central to our thinking. We are therefore particularly happy to support SOS Children's Villages, who offer a home to youngsters."
SOS Children's Villages at Saar, Pfalz and Obernai were selected; these three charities are located in the neighbourhood of Hager Group sites. Europa-Park is supporting the action by offering particularly favourable rates for admission, accommodation and catering to the children.
