Dr. Ralph Fürderer is Hager Group’s new Chief Technical Officer.
Hager Group Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Ralph Fürderer as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Board of Directors’ member, effective immediately. He takes over from the previous CTO, François Lhomme.
As CTO, Dr. Ralph Fürderer is accountable for the following business functions: Group Engineering, Group Manufacturing, Group Industrialisation, Group Supply Chain and Group Quality.
Dr. Ralph Fürderer holds a Master’s Degree in mathematics and physics from the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. He also has a PhD in economics from the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany and the University of Chicago. He has worked in Europe, the USA and Asia and held strategic and operational responsibilities in the field of manufacturing, industrialisation and R&D. This extensive international career ranges from the automotive to railway industries. He started his career in 1991 at the General Motors Corporation then in 2010 moved to Alstom transports SA, his next move in 2014 was to Faiveley transport SA which was acquired by the Wabtec Corporation in 2017. Just before joining Hager Group he was Group Chief Technology Officer for Wabtec Corporation, working in Paris, Berlin and Pittsburgh.
Gunther Fleig, Chairman of Hager SE Supervisory Board commented that,
"… Dr. Ralph Fürderer will strengthen the Board of Directors thanks to his proven track record and leadership skills, he already has an established career as CTO. His wide-ranging technical and management skills are of great value for shaping the future at Hager Group. By mutual agreement, François Lhomme’s mandate as CTO will not be renewed. The Supervisory Board would like to thank him for his work, high personal commitment, loyalty and team spirit. The Supervisory Board wishes him all the best for his future path.”
