When renovating listed buildings, architects and installers are often faced with a tricky task: how to preserve the historical substance while integrating contemporary comfort? In the case of the Renaissance moated Biljoen castle in the Netherlands, built in 1530, the planners have solved this challenge intelligently: using the Berker switch range and wireless KNX technology. The listed building could be modernised without having to open walls or lay cable ducts.
