E3/DC, a subsidiary of Hager Group, has expanded its logistics centre. It was officially opened on 8th June 2018. This logistics centre can dispatch up to 50 domestic power stations per day to customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The company was founded in Osnabrück in 2010 and is now the German market leader for grid-connected sources of backup solar power supply. At the moment, around 40,000 energy storage systems are built and supplied in Germany every year. In 2018, E3/DC will produce 6,500 of them; that translates to 450 to 700 systems per month, depending on the time of year. The Head of E3/DC Dr. Andreas Piepenbrink commented that, “…this investment marks the beginning of a new era for us. People are changing their thinking and starting to understand how they can store electricity from photovoltaic systems and use it for self-defined home energy management.”
E3/DC also provides charging stations for electric cars. The figure for 2018 alone is 700 wallboxes. Solar power is obtained, stored and transferred to the vehicle at no charge.
E3/DC’s partners TQ-Systems, Dachser, Caleg and Krieg, plus Frank Hasenberg, Mayor of Wetter, and Brigitte Drees from the business development agency Wirtschaftsförderungsagentur Ennepe-Ruhr GmbH congratulated the company on its new logistics centre, pointing out the importance of a well-functioning logistics system and the competitive advantage such a system brings.
