Hager Group opens its factory gates for the Langen Nacht der Industrie for the ninth time

What exactly does Hager Group do? What training opportunities does the company offer? And how does work in a family business differ from work in any other?

Questions such as these were answered by colleagues at Hager Group's Blieskastel site on the evening of 24th October. This was the ninth time that the factory took part in the Lange Nacht der Industrie (Long Night of Industry), during which companies from the Saarland opened their doors to the public to present their work and products. Around 100 interested parties, primarily young people, as well as some of the site's employees took the opportunity to get to know the factory at an unusual hour and from an unusual perspective.

"My first day in industry" was the motto of the evening, which trainees, interns, students, and trainees prepared together with other employees of Hager Group. Young Talents from Hager Group accompanied the visitors to four stations where colleagues presented day-to-day work and the fascinating aspects of working for Hager Group.

One of the stations was the technical training workshop, where instructors and trainees presented their professions and skills. The next stop was in Logistics, which is responsible for the transport and handling of products and materials. In the commercial department, department head Andreas Fuchs had come up with something special: the department's functions were presented to the visitors by apprentices, students and Human Resources Development representative in a role play. The guests – among them many schoolchildren, students, and graduates – were able to experience live what the Andreas Fuchs' teams do every day. Finally, there was also a tour of the production facilities and the section of the factory where Hager Group products are manufactured.

The enthusiastic employees were also able to answer many questions in personal discussions and thus arouse the interest of many visitors in the company's work. It is therefore quite possible that some of them will be seen again sooner or later – as new trainees or newly recruited employees of Hager Group.
