Hager recognized with the Australian Good Design Award

The "make the switch" program reinterprets classic Australian switches and sockets. The two lines "Allure" and "Finesse", which have been on the market since May 2021, have now received the prestigious Australian Good Design Award, which promotes excellent design, innovation and creativity at national and international level.

"We rethought the traditional Australian switch, moving away from the ubiquitous rounded corners and a certain robustness. We wanted to create two lines that evoke similar emotions yet have different personalities: one that is welcome in any home, and one that takes an architectural approach," says Erwin Van Handenhoven, design director at Hager Group.

Both lines have a clean, crisp and extremely understated design. It creates a lightness that has a certain magic with small shadows creating a unique floating effect.

In the film, you can feel the magic of the two new lines, "Allure" and "Finesse".

"Allure" has extremely simple lines whilst preserving the visual code of Australia. Combining tradition with the new, the line fits well into local interiors. The switches and sockets fit perfectly on the wall, are quick to install and have no dust nest. In contrast, the "Finesse" line is clearly architecturally inspired to seduce with its minimalist and precise design. It brings nobility, grace and class to the room. The low profile of the products makes them exceptionally discreet.

Not only the look, also the interior of these exceptional lines convinces with its thoughtful design. With their fine details such as built-in levels and pre-installed screws, they are faster to install, easier to handle and safer to boot. At the same time, they anticipate future technological developments with an adaptable platform that integrates features such as USB-C, HDMI and automation.

The switches and outlets in both lines are UV-stabilized polycarbonate constructions and available in gloss white, matte black and matte white.
