loft - no loft (Barcelona, Spain)

The up and coming Catalan architectural firm ‘h3o’ has carried out the refurbishment of an apartment in the Barcelona neighbourhood, Sant Antoni. This 80 m2 loft is split into zones by furniture and design, to help energize the space and allow for function.

At the entrance, one piece of furniture occupies the corridor and separates the most private rooms from the public area of the house. Throughout the rest of the house, furniture is used in the kitchen, bathroom, and living room, to denote function and space.

It is precisely in these pieces of furniture where the h3o designers decided to locate most of Hager's mechanisms. To keep the apartment open, whilst helping round off the utility of the function of these spaces.

The Berker 1930 Series plugs and switches in Rosenthal porcelain have been used across many different types of surfaces throughout the project, such as pink marble, stained cedar and stainless steel. They’re the perfect example of the versatility and material quality that this project required.
