Welcome to the Hager Group Awards 2022

Celebrating outstanding performance together

Each year at Hager Group we embark on a multitude of projects. They are the result of 12,100 dedicated and motivated employees applying themselves at work. We created the Hager Group Awards in recognition of the individual and team successes achieved within our company.

From the many project submissions we received, the respective juries invited the six best per category to a pitch presentation.

Eventually, 12 finalists met at the Obernai site Hager Forum for the first Hager Group Awards ceremony at the beginning of June. Awards were given for the most innovative projects, for technical excellence, for outstanding performance and for all those who are behind them and shine as a source of inspiration, innovation and motivation.

The entire board was on hand to pay tribute to the winners, as well as to all finalists and participants. “Hager Group Awards are all about consolidating our idea of a common journey and what unites us as a company”, explains Daniels Hager, Chairman of the Board. “Projects chosen for these awards symbolise our many best practices. They underline what defines and drives us as Hager Group: customer orientation, performance thinking, a forward-looking vision and a sustainability mindset."

The Hager Group Awards are designed to leave an impact beyond the evening. The winners of this night's event stand for the big and small successes we all achieve every day which don't always get a big stage. They stand for all those who give their best for the success of our company.

We are as pleased as we are proud that so many colleagues participated and submitted a project and congratulate all finalists and especially the winning projects.

Hager Group Awards Winners 2022

Winner Digitalisation Award: Future-ready network
This team successfully improved the reliability and performance of our own corporate network. As a result of their efforts, there has been an approximate 50% reduction in network incidents and global bandwidth has been doubled across 50 locations. Customers remained unaffected by the rollout and all Hager Group employees now benefit from better performance.

50 locations, no physical meetings, and a new network: all this in a short time, yet the rollout occurred with no adverse impact to any location. Digitalisation plays a huge role not only in better connectivity, but also better sustainability. This reliable and flexible new network enables both.

Winner Customer Centricity Award: Digital platform for return claims
This new ePortal for installers’ claims makes submitting product returns easier. Installers get 24/7 access to our service portal and our sales reps are relieved of tasks, such as triggering and monitoring claims. Our customers benefit from faster processing times and our teams have significantly less effort.

This project required many steps prior to launch: onboarding and aligning resources from many different departments, finding the best tool and achieving GDPR compliancy. Yet, once implemented into the Group, it is now the first end-to-end digital solution that provides customers with the best digital – and human – experience for return claims.

Project representatives: Philippe Gloeckler, Sacha Stoffel, Catherine Fischer, Christian Bormeister, Oliver Riedl, Anne Kermel, Gregory Voegtlin

Winner Excellence Award: HPS 2.0 excellence program
How do we ensure world class manufacturing? This program takes the best internal and external expertise for each process and converts it into a new standard that can be deployed group wide. It unifies excellence across all sites by reinforcing benchmarking and collaboration. Employees gain a clear path to progress, and customers profit from even greater reliability.

When building a platform to share experiences, the right balance between standardising processes and allowing room for creativity can be difficult to find. This solution, however, provides a path and strategy to improve in all areas in a standardised way. The positive impacts of the program can already be felt.

Project managers: Nicolas Spino, Florence Moro, Michael Matter

Winner Sustainability Award: Domovea CO2 footprint reduction
When it comes to using cloud resources in connected building solutions, this project team is convinced that our offers should also contribute to ecological and circular design. That’s why they are helping us to reduce third-party network usage for cloud services. The end user benefits from less cloud data consumption, while also optimising their CO2 footprint.

The challenge was to optimise services without visibly impacting the user journey. The solution achieves this while also contributing to Hager Group’s Blue Planet commitment.

Project representatives: Mathieu Créteau, Thomas Cazabat, Christophe Saunier

Winner Culture Award: Sparkies are Golden
A long-term campaign for electricians to connect and share stories. The customers are the hero here, as they can nominate colleagues to be “Sparky of the Season”. Or they can post a video of themselves demonstrating their skills. This campaign has already garnered 486,000 social media interactions.

Social first campaigns were a new approach for us, so extra time and prep were invested to ensure all activities would be successful. The work paid off because the campaign outperformed all others and captured Hager’s customer-centric mission. As one winner posted: “I love the spirit of the Hager family. You are simply brilliant!”
