Trend Session #9: The future of architecture

Live talk on 29 November 2019 - 13:00-14:00

In the words of Van Bo Le-Mentzel: “If all the inhabitants of this world deserve to have their own space, there are currently around 7 billion of us and each person has 40-50 square metres, do you know how much space we need? This Earth is probably too small for all of us.” The population is due to rise to 9.8 billion by 2050. Nearly 70 % of this soaring population – 6.7 billion inhabitants – will be living in urban areas. As a result of this, we need to rethink our way of designing and using our spaces. So then, what will the city of tomorrow look like?

Explore the future of architecture with Van Bo Le-Mentzel during Trend Session #9!

Take part in this conference to explore the future
In its Trend Sessions, Hager Forum invites you to explore the future and understand the upcoming trends. Our aim is to open minds, create new perspectives and encourage people to think about current and forward-looking topics.

The speaker: Van Bo Le-Mentzel, is a German architect, ingeneer, designer and innovator of Lao origin.  An unconventional thinker and the creator of several initiatives between design and social participation. His Tinyhouse University brings together architects, designers and companies to experiment with innovative ways to address urban housing challenges and reimagine how we use public spaces.

“Van Bo focuses on future urban scenarios, marked by a shortage of living space and vehicles to get us from A to B. When asked how he sees the future of our habitat, he speaks with a passion that is also reflected in his eyes and his gestures.”

The talk can be accessed live on our site

The session will be in English, with simultaneous translation into French.
