Hager Group CEO Sabine Busse calls for more courage in the energy transition

At the BDI Economic Forum marking the opening of Hannover Messe, Sabine Busse, CEO of Hager Group, said: "For the energy transition, we need more courage and investments in technological innovations. Essential prerequisites for this are stable framework conditions and market-based incentives that involve all citizens in the energy transition."

For more acceptance and speed, the regulatory framework must allow all citizens to participate in the energy transition. With regional PV electricity marketing, electricity producers and consumers can market electricity among themselves on the same grid level. The technology is ready, but it requires more courage to change, Busse continued.

Hager Group contributes to the energy transition in the building sector with comprehensive energy management solutions. The company is a leading provider of electrotechnical installations in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and generates a turnover of 3.2 billion euros (2023) with 13,000 employees. Sabine Busse has been CEO of the Hager Group since December 1, 2023.

The theme of this year’s BDI Economic Forum was 'Europe in Transition – How do politics and business shape the next phase of transformation?'. Moderated by journalist Sonja Alvarez, Sabine Busse discussed competitiveness and innovative strength of medium-sized companies in Germany and Europe with Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, and Charlotte Finger, Managing Partner of Maschinenfabrik Mönninghoff.
