100 years of Berker: innovative switch design from the Sauerland region

Since their very first switch design, brothers Robert and Hugo Berker have attached great importance to a coherent combination of form and function as well as clear, reduced aesthetics in their products. This design philosophy is still valid one century later. In terms of design and technology, the Berker brand under the Hager Group umbrella still remains up-to-date.

Berker switches and systems are used all over the world to make people more comfortable with their beautiful and simple design. Great importance has always been and continues to be attached to Berker quality, design and innovation; this is confirmed by the numerous awards from home and abroad.

Generation R., Berker's latest successful series, completes the circle of a company history marked by innovations and design milestones. Designed in 2013 with the Berker R.1 by design icon Werner Aisslinger and further developed via the Berker R.3, R.classic and R.8, the range is characterised by an innovative mix of materials ranging from concrete or slate to acrylic, wood or leather - as well as a multitude of functions. The connecting and defining design element of the four R. lines is always the circle. The first circle began in 1919.

As a leading supplier of high-quality electrical installations, our portfolio includes timeless classic switch design as well as intelligent building system technology; Berker is particularly popular with architects and planners. Every development is consistently geared to the wishes of the customer. More than 150 surfaces are available for the switch ranges. We can produce an almost infinite number of surfaces as the manufacture can offer individualisation to every customer if requested. A frame that smells of coffee? No problem. Your favourite jeans as a surface for the switch in the dressing room? No problem. Colleagues can respond to almost any customer request. This means that every switch can become a truly unique item.

Happy birthday, Berker!
