The Racing Esports Live Show 2024 drew more than 800 people to the Hager Forum

27 March 2024

After a successful first season in 2023, this year's objective was to introduce as many people as possible to the world of video games and professional Esports. The day was therefore open to the general public, who turned out in force to take part in a programme packed with experiences and encounters.

A spectacular event

A day dedicated to video games, interrupted only by the proceedings of the 9th eLigue1 day between RCSA Esport and LOSC Esport, was held on Wednesday 13 March at our Hager Forum in Obernai. Tickets were sold out with more than 800 people attending throughout the day, proof of their interest in the discipline.

Enthusiasts, the curious and families alike took advantage of a host of gaming events and workshops. The varied programme included virtual reality activities, retrogaming, games for families, an EA FC24 area supervised by players from the RCSA Esports team, as well as prevention workshops, face painting, frescoes and controller customisation with graffiti artist Jaek El Diablo and artist BrunoGraffer.

On the main stage, the public was treated to a spectacular programme of demonstration matches and a cosplay show before welcoming The Fairy Dina, Olympic champion and three-time French champion of the Just Dance video game, who set the Forum alight.

What’s more, attendees had the chance to meet three professional Racing players, Alaa Belaarouch, Andrey Santos and Ismaël Doukouré, who demonstrated their skill with the controller in hand.

In the evening, the match between Racing Esports and LOSC Esports took place in front of a full house, cheering on Cursorr (Yann Robin) and RayZiaaH (Florian Maridat), the two esports players from Strasbourg against the Lille team of Rocky (Corentin Chevrey) and Ilian Bouchi. Despite a partisan crowd, Racing lost 0-2 to the northerners in a thrilling encounter.

A strategic partnership for Hager Group

As a partner of RCSA since 2017, Hager Group's commitment to the Alsatian club has been strengthened by supporting the Esport section since its creation four years ago. The organisation of this event demonstrates our commitment to RCSA by developing innovative actions for our employees, fans and partners. Esport reflects the new ways our society uses digitalisation and new technologies while integrating competitiveness and innovation. Being associated with Esport, and more generally the gaming world, is a way of connecting more closely with the digital culture that has become essential among the younger generations.

Digitalisation is at the heart of our corporate challenges, both in terms of customer relations and the development of our products and services, as well as recruiting our future talent.

The success of this second season of the Racing Esports Live Show hosted at the Hager Forum further proves the enthusiasm for this discipline. It has encouraged us to renew the bet in 2025 with new experiences to come.
