Continuous Improvement Awards held at Hager Forum on 15th March

After welcoming almost 200 colleagues invited from nine different countries, the 12 finalist project teams presented their projects in a Market Place with their own individualised stand. Members of the Jury and attendees circulated in an informal market place atmosphere where they had the opportunity to learn more about each of the finalist projects, ask project team members questions and network.

In the spirit of continuous improvement and best practice sharing, an update from last year’s three winners was presented at the start of the afternoon as well as two internal guest speakers who shared their projects named - Certification Process of MCCB P1 and P2 & France Discount.

A Continuous Improvement trophy was awarded to the most convincing projects in the following three categories: transversal, process improvement and ECO. A Special Award went to a fourth project that the Jury also felt distinguished itself.

The winning projects were:

For ECO – Device Bracket:

Device Bracket project was to ensure a more effective and lean process of manufacturing.

For process Improvement – Global Equipment Effectiveness improvement of Blue Power line BP23:

To increase overall productivity of Blue Power line BP23 volume, Global Equipment Effectiveness (GEE) needed to be improved.

For Transversal - Value Chain Process Optimisation Sollysta:

With Sollysta (British Standard Wiring Accessories range) lead times (LT) are now shorter and stock is reduced.

Special Award – DOJO, a Training Centre for Safety:

With DOJO, a user-friendly tool that encourages self-learning, training time has been reduced by 80% and safety practices are more effective.

After the ceremony Daniel Hager, CEO, congratulated all the finalists for their on-going hard work and preparation for the event commenting how impressed he was by the increasing standard of English; a common language for leverage.

Ralf Swoboda, Senior Vice President Group Value Chain, closed the day commenting that, “…industry and markets are constantly changing, requiring constant adaptation to remain competitive. We must continually ask for optimisation, question processes and do more with less.  Learning from each other and duplicating best practices are key. Improving efficiency and effectiveness in the Value Chain enables us to be competitive, even better fulfill customers’ needs, achieve target profitability and make Project 2020 a success.”
